One of Montana's greatest treasures is the prehistoric Dinosaur Trail, a series of museums, state parks, and other dinosaur-themed attractions that span the state. And the only thing better than seeing real fossils in a museum is digging for them yourself, which is what you can do on a privately-owned ranch in Glendive. This is your chance to play paleontologist for a day in the eastern Montana badlands.

This is more than just a guided tour. You'll actually get to dig for your own fossils.
The guides will show you exactly what to look for, how to excavate fossils, and how to cast or prepare them. They'll also supply you with all of the necessary equipment.
Guided fossil hunts typically run from April through October. It's all dependent on the weather.
In order to take part in this unique activity, you'll have to first make a reservation. The cost depends on how long the dig is. It's more expensive for a full day vs. a half day.
