Every autumn, some of Montana's finest farms transform into pumpkin patches and corn mazes to celebrate the season. The Montana Corn Maze, which is designed every October at a farm in Manhattan, is one of the largest and most popular mazes in the state. If you have yet to experience this place for yourself, make this the year you go.
The Montana Corn Maze is a time-honored tradition for those in Gallatin County, which is where Manhattan is located (about 25 minutes from Bozeman).
The maze got its start in 2010, and it's been popular ever since.
Starting in late September and remaining open through Halloween, this small family farm is transformed into a fantastic fall extravaganza.
There are pumpkins for sale, wagon rides, farm animals, kids' activities, and food from Smoldering Coals Catering on Saturdays.
Of course, the magnificent maze is the main attraction.
The corn maze is about 4.5 acres. Tickets are $8 for ages 12 and up, $6 ages 4-11, and free for 3 and under. Admission grants you access to all the other farm activities as well.
Every year, the family chooses a different theme, which they announce in early September.
The first theme was simply the shape of the sun setting over the Montana mountains. Other themes have included God Made A Farmer, the Big Hole Battlefield, the MSU Bobcats, and Virginia City Mining.
So why is 2019 the best year to go? They've just announced the theme, which is Montana Birds of Prey.
Not only is it sure to be intricately detailed and a lot of fun, but with this being their ninth year in operation, it's sure to be their best season yet.
If you're not bringing anyone under the age of 12 and you're up for something more sinister, come to Montana Corn Maze on Saturday, October 26th.
The maze is always haunted on the last Saturday of October, and it's amazing.
The haunted maze kicks off at 7 p.m. on October 26th.
Tickets are $10 for all ages, but the team highly recommends you leave your young children at home. You're encouraged to wear your costume to this event, but no masks or weapons (even fake ones) are permitted.
The Montana Corn Maze is a beautiful way to commemorate Halloween season.
This farm dates all the way back to 1897, and it's obviously still going strong.
Address: 4605 West Cameron Bridge Road, Manhattan, MT, 59741
