Spending time at a museum is a great way to learn about our local history and enjoy some impressive art. And you might be surprised at how affordable of a hobby it is -- in fact, admission at one of Montana's most underrated museums happens to be free.
The Missoula Art Museum is located at 335 N Pattee St.
Founded in 1975, this nonprofit museum is an impressive place.
Thanks to the generosity of its members and donations, admission to the Missoula Art Museum is always free.
Considering it's such a spectacular place, that's pretty impressive.
MAM has eight exhibition spaces, a library, an education center, and an inviting information lounge.
Every year, 20-25 solo and group exhibitions rotate through the galleries.
The museum also hosts plenty of tours and classes for those who want to learn more about art.
The classes include lessons for kids, teens, adults, and families.
One great way to support the museum is to attend the annual Benefit Art Auction, the next of which will be on February 2.
If you live in the Missoula area and support the arts, this is a perfect way to help keep the museum free for all.
MAM is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10-5.
And it's a good thing admission is free, because one visit is never enough.
The Missoula Art Museum is a must-see. And for those who enjoy a little quirky and eccentric fun, check out one of Montana's weirdest museums.
