Exploring Missouri doesn't necessarily mean wearing the soles out on our favorite walking shoes or peering from a bus window as we enjoy lively commentary from a seasoned guide. One of the most unique tours in Missouri, in fact, will ensure you get plenty of exercise while enjoying a cold drink and seeing the city of Springfield from a whole new perspective.
Bring your friends along for a one-of-a-kind tour of Springfield aboard a quadricycle with 417 Pedal Tours. It's arguably one of the most unique tours in all of Missouri.
Here's how it works. The quadricycle has 14 seats, 10 of which feature pedals and four that are just seats. Pedaling's a whole lot of fun and not too much work. The bike doesn't go faster than five miles per hour.
Groups meet at the Wilhoit Plaza parking lot at least 20 minutes before the tour begins. That gives everyone time to board and to learn more about what to expect from the tour.
Currently, tours are for adults of legal drinking age only as the tour will stop at three venues along the way. You'll choose from a long list of partner establishments, including Finnegan's Wake Irish Pub and Harbell's Grill & Sports Bar.
You'll have to fill out a waiver prior to boarding, and open-toed shoes and high heels are prohibited. The FAQ provide a comprehensive list of what to expect.
All guests are encouraged to bring water and snacks along and prepare to have their IDs checked.
Private tours are available on select days, or you can hop aboard for a public ride on Friday evenings as long as there are at least six guests aboard.
