This impressive park is bound to be your new favorite family destination.
Welcome to Moberly! If you're a fan of beautiful outdoor spaces with fun for the whole family, you'll find this town to be nothing short of heavenly.
At the heart of Moberly is Rothwell Park, a sprawling park that offers endless activities for every season.
One of the most popular attractions inside Rothwell Park is the miniature railroad, also known as the Magic City Line. Each year, the Magic City Line welcomes nearly 6,000 visitors from near and far.
The Magic City Line runs each Sunday from early May to the end of October, weather permitting. May 2nd will be the opening of this year's season.
This delightful ride represents the historic Wabash and Norfolk & Western Railroads. The 1-mile excursion meanders through the park, showcasing gardens, views of the lake, and beautiful park scenery at every turn.
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just out for the ride, you'll love cruising through the park on this one-of-a-kind train.
Visitors should note that the miniature train is wheel chair-accessible.
Adjacent to the Magic City Line, the Thompson Campground makes for the perfect place to spend a few nights. Named in honor of Lionel Thompson, former Mayor of Moberly, the campground offers all the amenities you'll need for a comfortable stay.
There are 24 RV sites available in the campground, and each includes a concrete pad, electricity, and water. There's also a showerhouse and Wi-Fi.
If you visit during warmer months, you'll definitely want to take advantage of the Aquatic Center. Whether you prefer lounging with a book or splashing around in the water, you'll be delighted to spend a few hours at the pool.
And that's not all that this incredible park has to offer. Other features you'll want to explore include 6 miles of trails (3 miles of asphalt trails, 3 miles of nature trails), 5 playgrounds, an athletic complex, paddle boats, boat ramps, and an ADA fishing pier.
For visitors who love golf, there's a stunning course less than two miles from Rothwell Park.
