Missouri’s got its fair share of farmer’s markets and flea markets that run all year round. But there’s something special about the seasonal ones in particular. One annual tradition that you certainly don’t want to miss is the Rutledge Flea Market. It earns props as one of the largest and oldest flea markets in the state, making it a must-visit for the best bargains around.
Get ready to shop ‘til you drop at Rutledge Flea Market
It is one of the largest and oldest seasonal flea markets in the state and shoppers have been flocking to it since 1948.
The market is open the second Friday and Saturday of each month from March through October, and the first weekend in November every year.
The town of Rutledge is located in the northeastern part of the state, about an hour and 15 minutes north and a little bit east of well-known Hannibal, MO.
One of the things that makes the Rutledge Flea Market so awesome, is that it spans an astounding 80 acres!
Once here you’ll find vendors selling everything from collectibles to homemade goods, antiques, and more.
Eighty acres is quite a bit of space to cover, so Rutledge Flea Market offers hourly rentals of golf carts to make getting around easier.
Shoppers come from all around the region, including from towns like Kirksville, Edina, Memphis, and La Plata, just to name a few.
If you don’t plan to rent a golf cart, wear comfortable shoes, because you’ve got a whole lot of space to explore.
Stroll along the grounds where you’ll find hidden treasures and other goodies. Among them is a wealth of handcrafted items of which Missouri residents are immensely proud.
If you're looking for rocking chairs, bicycles, stuffed animals, or vintage dishware, you'll find it all here!
Don’t forget to check out the fresh produce and colorful flowers, the perfect touch to any home. Honey from local, regional, and state honey producers are also a big draw here.
When you need a break, grab a bite to eat from one of the food vendors.
You never know what kind of goodies – baked goods, sandwiches, and tacos – you’ll find. There are lots of specialty items as well including kettle corn and candy.
Any of these signs would make a cool addition to your home or place of business!
Rutledge may be small, but it is one of the most charming towns in Missouri and the perfect place for this massive flea market!
