We never know what hidden treasures we'll uncover at a flea market. However, if we're willing to do a bit of walking and some digging, we're sure to score a few epic finds, especially when we visit one as massive as this Missouri flea market. Spanning more than 80 acres, Rutledge Flea Market earns props as one of the state's largest flea markets. Carve out plenty of time for your visit, too, if you want to see as many of the hundreds of vendors' stands as you can.
Slip on a pair of your comfiest walking shoes for your journey to Rutledge Flea Market, a massive flea market covering more than 80 acres.
You'll have so much room to explore that you'll want to arrive early, if you want to see it all. Make sure you dress for the weather, too, so you're comfortable during your visit.
Don't worry if you're not able to do all of that walking. You can still see all the flea market has to offer by renting a golf cart. However, there's a bit of a catch.
Golf carts can be rented at the office near the south entrance. Rentals are by the hour and are on a first come, first serve basis; reservations are not accepted.
The Rutledge Flea Market welcomes shoppers the second Friday and Saturday of each month from March through October. It's also open the first weekend in November.
The 2023 season kicks off on March 10 and 11.
Hosting hundreds of vendors, the flea market is so big, you probably won't be able to visit all of the stands in a single day.
That's okay, though, because you can now book a stay at the on-site campground, perfect if you're up for two solid days of treasure hunting.
The RV Campground is part of the 80-acre flea market. Reservations must be made in advance. Most sites feature both a picnic table and a fire ring. If you prefer to rough it, pitch a tent. Tent sites are available for $10 without electricity and $20 with electricity as of the 2023 season.
Billing itself as "Missouri's Oldest Largest Consecutive Flea Market Since 1948," Rutledge Flea Market boasts vendors selling everything from fresh fruits and veggies to one-of-a-kind crafts.
Bring an appetite, too, because food vendors are always on hand, dishing up a variety of goodies.
