There are a ton of great swimming spots in Mississippi. We’re not complaining, but it can be hard to keep up with them all - and easy to overlook a few. But one you definitely don’t want to overlook is Merit Water Park. Home to a spring-fed swimming hole, it’s sure to become your new favorite summer destination. Take a look:
Small town Mississippi is full of hidden gems and Merit Water Park is one of them.
The park is located in Mendenhall, MS, which is in Simpson County
A summertime must-visit, the 25-acre park is situated on Rials Creek and features a small waterfall and old-fashioned swimming hole.
There’s also a sand and rock creek-side beach, so there’s plenty of room to sunbathe in between swimming.
But you’ll probably be more interested in swimming – and that’s because Rials Creek is spring-fed, so the water is nice and cold all year long.
Not only refreshing, but the water is crystal clear. In fact, in most places you can see straight through the water to the sandy creek bottom.
Water that’s refreshingly cold and clear isn’t the only notable feature of Rials Creek, though.
There are also the creek's broad rock formations, which form chutes, pools, falls, and Jacuzzis.
Between the secluded locale and cool, rushing water, it's hard not to fall in love with Merit Water Park.
