Basically the yard sale of all yard sales, US 11 Antique Alley and Yard Sale actually begins right here in Mississippi. The four-day sale runs through several states and extends hundreds of miles, making it one of the longest in the country. This sale is absolutely epic, and you definitely don’t want to miss it. The massive sale always takes place the weekend after Mother's Day. This year, it's scheduled for May 17-20, 2018.
The "festive roadside sale" runs along U.S. Highway 11, from Meridian, Mississippi to Bristol, Virginia.
It covers 502 miles and runs through five states.
The yard sale includes the following states: Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.
In Mississippi, it runs through the towns of Meridian, Russell, Toomsuba, and Kewanee.
Known as "U.S. 11 Antique Alley," the event was held for the first time in 1998.
During the sale, dozens of antique dealers, flea market vendors, and yard sale enthusiasts line the route.
Vendors can be found along the roadway at private residences, empty lots, and designated stops, such as the Old Dixie Station in Kewanee (pictured below).
The Simmons-Wright Company is another designated stop in Mississippi.
Established in the 1800s, The Simmons-Wright Company is the oldest general store in the state.
You'll definitely want to head inside, where you'll find two-floors filled with antiques, memorabilia, and other unique merchandise.
The store even includes a restaurant, so it's a great spot to grab a bite to eat in between shopping.
With so many vendors, the possibility of finding a hidden treasure is practically guaranteed.
