If you find yourself on the Mississippi State University campus, there’s a special dairy store that’s worth a stop. This awesome dairy store in Mississippi offers more products than you could count, and you could easily spend a few hours just browsing the shelves. Make sure you’ve got some space in the trunk of your car, because you’ll be taking home loads of products!
Welcome to the MAFES Sales Store, where you’ll find an incredible array of dairy products, spices, jams, jellies, and so much more.
MAFES stands for the Mississippi State Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, and this is where you’ll find a variety of MSU-made products.
There's a lot going on here, so you'll want to take your time browsing.
From pottery to peanuts, you'll find a little bit of everything here.
But we know what brought you into the store in the first place. The cheese.
Edam cheese is an absolute must-try. It’s a staple around these parts!
This three-pound cannon ball-shaped cheese is aged for three months before hitting the shelves.
And it'll keep in your fridge for up to six months. You know, just in case you can't finish a three-pound cannonball of cheese in one sitting.
There are plenty of other cheeses to savor, too!
Cheddar cheese and Vallagret are also extremely popular. Vallagret cheese is a unique cheese that was developed by an MSU graduate student. It’s a Norwegian type of Swiss cheese with a sweeter, nuttier flavor than traditional Swiss cheese.
Get all of them to make yourself an epic charcuterie board for your next special occasion (or late-night snack).
It's a great place to pick up unique spice blends, coffee blends, and more.
This is a perfect place to do your holiday shopping and get that special something for the MSU fan in your life.
The deep-fried peanuts are always a home run, and they're perfect for snacking while you explore the campus.
They make an excellent game day snack, that's for sure!
And who could resist picking up some of their delicious ice cream flavors?
Muscadine Ripple is one of the most popular flavors. The muscadine grapes are locally grown at the South Mississippi Branch Experiment Station. Give it a try! There are 11 different flavors to choose from, so if muscadine doesn’t tempt your tastebuds you’re sure to find a flavor that does.
Check out the MAFES website for a full list of products, and be sure to follow MAEFES on Facebook so you never miss out on the latest news. If you can't make it over any time soon, they will even ship your order to you!
