Mississippi is full of secret sites and lesser known locales. Usually, these unknown spots are remotely located. Sometimes, though, they’re hiding right under our nose. And that’s exactly the case with a charming little chapel in Columbus. Take a look:
Columbus boasts one of the largest collections of 19th century homes in Mississippi.
Several of the historic mansions are open year-round. Others, such as Rosewood Manor, are only open during special events.
The fact that Rosewood Manor isn’t open to the public on a regular basis means that most people will never see the stunning home – or the chapel on its grounds.
Undeniably enchanting, the tiny chapel is surrounded by colorful flowers and religious statues.
If you thought the outside of the church was impressive, take a look at the inside.
One of Rosewood Manor’s best features, the beautiful church is estimated to be over 125 years old.
Between the incredible architecture and intricate stained glass windows, it's truly a work of art.
The chapel isn't the manor's only notable outdoor feature, though. There's also the garden, which is full of colorful blooms.
The last time Rosewood Manor was opened to the public was in March for Columbus' Spring Pilgrimage. Currently, the home is up for sale, so it’s not known when it will be open again.
Remember though, the Spring Pilgrimage isn’t the only time you can explore Columbus’ historic homes. Click
