Mississippi is home to a ton of unique and interesting sites and Fishbone Alley is definitely one of them. Far from your typical alley, this one is a popular destination, offering everything from great restaurants to live entertainment and festivals. Even though it’s only been around for two years, Fishbone Alley is already garnering national recognition and was even named one of "8 Amazing Streets You’ve Never Heard Of" by the New York Post. There really is no other place in the country quite like Fishbone Alley; take a look:
Located in downtown Gulfport, Fishbone Alley is situated between 26th and 27th Avenue and 13th and 14th Streets.
The alley was originally used for trash and maintenance, but in 2015, it received a makeover and went from an eyesore to an amenity.
Now a "funky little destination," the alley offers access to several restaurants and features a ton of original artwork by local artists.
Part of an ongoing program, artists from all over the coast have been invited to "leave their mark" on the alley.
With new murals and panels constantly being added, Fishbone Alley is always changing, so each visit is unique.
You can easily spend an entire day admiring the incredible paintings.
The unassuming backstreet is also used to host a slew of events throughout the year.
From festivals and concerts to live entertainment and tailgating, there's always something going on in Fishbone Alley
Surrounded by great eateries and bars, it's a great place for a night out, and because of the "to-go cup" law you can carry your adult beverage with you while walking around the alley.
Perfect for everything from a relaxing stroll to a night out, this one-of-a-kind alley has something for everyone.
