Mississippi’s newest museum, the Hattiesburg Pocket Museum also happens to be the state’s tiniest. But it’s not just the museum’s small size that makes it unique. Unlike most museums, this one is hidden — and finding it is part of the fun. Take a look:
Most establishments ensure their address is readily available for potential patrons — but the recently opened Hattiesburg Pocket Museum is not most establishments.
Instead, potential visitors are encouraged to come find the museum, which is tucked away in a Hattiesburg alleyway.
A mysterious location is just part of the museum’s allure, though. There’s also the fact that it’s made up of miniature displays that are hidden in the most ordinary of places.
All about discovery, visitors will have to search high and low for the teeny tiny exhibits.
Including everything from the whimsical to the macabre, the collections are sure to inspire, delight, and intrigue visitors of all ages.
And since the exhibits are changed on the first of the month, you can visit again and again and experience something new each time.
What’s more, you can actually submit a collection to become a part of the ever-changing museum.
Open 24/7, the Hattiesburg Pocket Museum is free to visit. For more information, visit the museum's website or Facebook page. You can also send an e-mail to [email protected].
