Whoever said learning isn’t fun has clearly never been to the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum. An incredible visit for all ages, the museum brings history to life through a ton of life-sized exhibits. Even better, there’s no charge for admission! Take a look:
Tucked away on a National Guard Base in Hattiesburg, the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum (MAFM) is a true hidden gem.
Opened for more than a decade, it’s the state’s "official military history museum."
At the end of 2016, the museum was renovated, making it even better.
Today, it’s loaded with incredible exhibits that tell the story of warfare from the Civil War to present-day.
Visitors of all ages are sure to be captivated by the life-sized exhibits.
With exceptional details, you’ll feel as if you’re right on the front lines.
In addition to an interior filled with artifacts, photos, and exhibits…
…the exterior grounds feature tanks and other military equipment, which can be explored.
The museum even holds camps for children during the summer.
A great day trip destination, the MAFM is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
