Now that it’s officially fall, you’re likely itching to partake in all your favorite fall festivities, and we’ve got just the place for you to live out your seasonal dreams – Pumpkin Adventure! An amazing annual affair, visitors can celebrate the arrival of autumn with hayrides, a visit to a pumpkin patch, and more. Take a look:
For the past several years, the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum in Jackson has hosted Pumpkin Adventure, a much-beloved fall festival.
And, luckily, this year is no exception! Pumpkin Adventure 2020 is scheduled for October 7th-10th, 14th-17th, and 21st-24th.
Fun for the whole clan, it’s the perfect autumn adventure – complete with a hayride around the grounds.
A hayride isn’t the only option for seasonal fun, though. There’s also a pumpkin patch.
A great place to search for the perfect pumpkin, the patch is filled with pumpkins in all sorts of shapes and sizes.
Fall festivities may be the highlight of Pumpkin Adventure, but there are lots of other ways visitors can stay entertained.
In addition to a hayride and visit to the pumpkin patch, the $8-admission to Pumpkin Adventure includes access to Small Town, Mississippi, a life-size replica of a tiny town from the 1920s.
Like stepping back in time, the make-believe town’s Main Street is lined with old buildings and artifacts.
Among the buildings that fill Small Town, Mississippi is an old-fashioned general store, where you can see displays of items that were commonly sold in general stores in the 1920s.
The charming shop also carries a variety of classic toys, such as jacks, yo-yos, and marbles, as well as Mississippi-made products, such as cheese straws, honey, jellies, jams, and more.
Pumpkin Fest attendees can explore the Heritage Center Gallery, too. Quite captivating, the gallery houses an array of exhibits, covering 500 years of Mississippi’s agricultural history.
Remember, Pumpkin Adventure will take place on the following dates: October 7-10, 14-17, and 21-24, 2020. The event will take place from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Please note, October 10, 17, and 24, 2020 are Pumpkin Adventure Family Days and have extended hours, which are 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made online.
