After covering one of the dreamiest milkshake spots in Mississippi, we decided to look for other places around the state known for their delicious sweets. And one thing’s for sure, we weren’t disappointed! From ice cream parlors to bakeries, there’s practically no shortage of great dessert shops in Mississippi; here are 10 of our favorites.
1. Snow Boogers (1030 King Bee Rd., Perkinston)
Don’t let the unusual name fool you; this small town dessert stand serves some of the best – and most unique – sweets around. Dubbed the "trendiest sno ball stand in the region," Snow Boogers offers visitors the chance to add a variety of tasty toppings, like cheesecake, cotton candy, and gummy worms, to their sno balls. The menu also includes all sorts of signature desserts - the sorbets are a customer favorite.
2. Ladybugg Bakery and Café (205 E Commerce St., Hernando)
This family owned and operated bakery makes it a point to use local ingredients whenever possible, resulting in some of the best tasting sweets around. Look over the menu, and you’ll find a delicious assortment that includes custom cakes, cupcakes, macarons, cookies, bars, turnovers and more. A customer favorite, the cupcakes come in all sorts of signature flavors, like chocolate coconut curry and mocha almond fudge.
3. Churn and Spoon (605 MS-12, Starkville)
Churn and Spoon serves homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors, which includes everything from standards, like chocolate, to signature creations. And if it’s toppings you’re after, Churn and Spoon has got you covered. With choices like fudge, gummy bears, sprinkles, and pecans, you’re sure to be pleased. Aside from hand-dipped ice cream, the sweet selection includes nitro ice cream, which is made using -321 degree liquid nitrogen, along with other "magnificent frozen treats."
4. Tatonut Donut Shop (114 Government St., Ocean Springs)
This Ocean Springs eatery is famous for its signature donuts, which are made from potato dough – hence the name. Head to the local favorite, and you’ll find everything from traditional glazed donuts to specialty ones, like the King Cake Donut.
5. Pop Brothers (1501 25th Ave., Gulfport)
Handcrafted in small batches on a daily basis, the popsicles at Pop Brothers are bound to be some of the tastiest you’ve ever eaten. Also sure to be some of the most unique, they come in "natural and inventive" flavors. Look over the menu, and you’ll find "basics," like strawberry, along with some more indulgent options, like Oreo cheesecake.
6. Bottletree Bakery (923 Van Buren Ave., Oxford)
This Oxford staple has been in business for over twenty years – and for good reason. The menu is brimming with tasty options, including plenty of sweets, like muffins, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, pies, and more. If you’re not sure what to order, go with the Strawberry Humble Pie; it was featured on the Food Network’s "Best Of."
7. Shiver Shack (15456 Dedeaux Rd., Gulfport)
Taking dessert to a whole new level, this Gulfport eatery is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Standard sno balls are dressed up with a variety of toppings, like candies, condensed milk, and more. You can even opt to have your sno ball served in an actual watermelon or pineapple, rather than a cup. As if all that weren’t enough, the menu also includes hard-to-find flavors, such as pickle.
8. Crave (209 Court St., Tupelo)
A favorite for people of all ages, this dessert and coffee café can be found in the heart of downtown Tupelo. The dessert menu includes an assortment of sweets. From cakes and pies to the eatery’s famous Skillet Cookie, your sweet tooth is sure to be satisfied.
9. Sugaree’s Bakery (110 W. Bankhead St., New Albany)
According to "Taste of the South" magazine, some of the best pie in the nation can be found at this small town bakery. Sugaree’s mouthwatering pies come in a variety of tasty flavors, with the chocolate meringue being one of the most popular.
10. The Mad Baker (1119 Washington St., Vicksburg)

Opened less than two years ago, The Mad Baker is already a local favorite. A full service bake shop, it offers a slew of baked treats, like cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, as well as homemade popsicles and gelato. The charming eatery is even available for children’s birthday parties, where kids can mix, bake, and decorate their own desserts.
