Here in Minnesota, there are spooky spots all around us. Restaurants, hotels, and even music venues are full of haunted lore. But unsurprisingly, the most haunted places of all are old, nearly forgotten cemeteries. There's one such cemetery in Renville County, Minnesota, that is notorious for its eerie activity. It's best not to venture to the cemetery alone or after dark — unless you think you're brave enough. Read on to learn more about this haunted cemetery:
Vicksburg Cemetery is in south-central Minnesota. It's on an empty road between the towns of Renville and Delhi. The cemetery originally served the town of Vicksburg, which became a ghost town in 1878.
Today, you can feel the cemetery's long history. A heavily wooded path leads to the site of many century-old burials.
At the end the path, a small, grassy field will greet you. It may not look like a cemetery at first, but the crumbling headstones will soon become apparent.
It is said that one of the headstones glows. Some even say it sprouts bleeding flowers in the springtime.
Others have slightly more believable — but equally spooky — claims. One visitor spotted an apparition of a woman. Another visitor thought they heard disembodied laughter.
Whatever the case may be, it's safe to say that Vicksburg cemetery is not a place you want to find yourself alone, especially at night!
