If you’ve ever wished you could experience all the best winter activities in one place, you can find that destination in Michigan. From what I can see, it will blow away your expectations. Boyne Mountain Resort is known for its cozy accommodations with some of the best skiing in the Midwest. However, SkyBridge Michigan is a one-of-a-kind attraction you won’t find anywhere else.
It’s time to light up the decorations and warm up some hot cocoa as I give you a sneak peek of what you can expect in Boyne Mountain Resort this winter (and I hope you’re not afraid of heights.)
It’s first important to get an overview of everything you’re seeing here at the resort that’s roughly an hour and 15 minutes drive northeast of Traverse City.
Your adventure isn’t limited to the daytime hours here when the lights are on display. Enjoy any of their 63 ski runs, try out a Moon biking tour, or snowshoe a hiking trail under the stars.
One of the most spectacular views you can get in the entire state comes from the SkyBridge at Boyne Mountain Resort.
This is the world’s largest timber tower suspension bridge. As long as you’re not afraid of heights, this is something you can’t miss out on. I can’t imagine a more picture-friendly place to snag a photo.
The view from the SkyBridge overlooks the entire resort.
First opened in 2022, Michiganders are just beginning to notice this incredible attraction. From the middle of the bridge, visitors can see skiers making their descent down the two highest peaks on the mountain.
When the sun begins to set the views over the western horizon light up the sky.
This is just a preview of what’s to come once the sun completely sets. That’s when you’ll be able to fully appreciate the light display on the bridge.
The bridge is outfitted with a dazzling array of holiday lights from November through March.
The work is done by a local Michigan light installation company. It makes the walk between the McLouth and Disciples Ridge peaks that much more magical than any other time of the year.
This is a great stop for skiers if you’re already on the mountain. It’s hard for me to think of a better way to rest my legs in the middle of a long day of skiing.
There is a cost to be admitted on the SkyBridge, but most people on the mountain will have an opportunity for a discount just by staying at a resort.
I think this picture speaks for itself. Hot cocoa just tastes better when you’re looking out over the vast Michigan horizon. What a way to warm up.
Tickets are always less expensive online than if you buy them in person at SkyBridge Michigan, and you can find different rates for kids, adults, and seniors by heading to their website.
As I said earlier, there are several ways you can save. Those who book lodging at any of the Boyne Mountain resorts can save $5 on SkyBridge admission, so maybe think about checking out some of these accommodations for a weekend full of winter family fun.
