Is there anything more wonderful than peacefully cruising through the waters of our gorgeous Great Lakes State? We think not, and Michigan is chock full of unique opportunities to appreciate the wonders of nature while spending time with loved ones. If you’re ready for an unforgettable cruising adventure that will give you an up-close look at one of our state’s prettiest regions, this Saugatuck gem belongs on your must-visit list.
The Star of Saugatuck operates from 716 Water St in Saugatuck.
If you’re looking for a unique way to unwind and experience the natural and man-made delights of West Michigan, this is the outing for you. It’s easy to see why visitors return year after year.
The vessel itself, known officially as the Star of Saugatuck II, is a bonafide paddleboat that measures 80 feet long. With room for 150 passengers, there’s plenty of space to make memories onboard.
When you opt for a ride on the Star, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Kalamazoo River, Lake Kalamazoo, and Lake Michigan itself. Bring along a camera, as you’ll surely want to remember this pretty cruise.
Most guests opt for the traditional daily cruise, which offers both daytime and evening outings. While there’s an extra fee per person to enjoy a sunset cruise, the views are undoubtedly worth the cost.
During your 90-minute journey, you can even enjoy a cocktail or other beverage while basking in the cool waterfront breeze. It really doesn’t get much more relaxed and refreshing than this.
Of course, the Star of Saugatuck also operates special events and themed cruises throughout the year, including a pirate cruise, a Halloween cruise, and an exciting “Wine on the Water” series.
While online booking is not currently available, visitors can book their cruises by calling (269) 857-4261. No matter how many times you’ve appreciated a day on the water, you’ll be absolutely enchanted.
