It’s never too early to start preparing for the upcoming holiday season, and Detroit offers so many ways to celebrate. If you’re a fan of festive lights, there’s one neighborhood destination near the Motor City that certainly belongs at the top of your must-visit list. As we inch closer to the arrival of winter, mark your calendars and count down until it’s time to enjoy this brilliant Christmas light show. You'll find that it's one of the best Christmas light displays near Detroit.
Bazillion Lights is a Christmas light display that’s put on by a local family each year and takes place at 29718 Robert Drive in Livonia, just 30 minutes from Detroit.
This unique display is aptly named, as the lights here seem absolutely endless. When you’re craving a healthy dose of holiday cheer, you’ve come to the right place.
The light show has its roots all the way back in 1996, when homeowner Gary Slater first decorated his house for the Christmas season. Today, it’s a local legend.
Throughout the years, the Slater family has only added to their sparkling setup. When you stop by, you’ll be blown away by the dazzling decor on the house and in the yard.
From illuminated Santa Clauses to a tree of lights to signs and snowmen, there’s something here to impress every visitor. Be sure to snap a few photos outside.
In years past, the display has featured upwards of 30,000 lights, and there’s no telling what this season might bring. It doesn’t get much more magical than this.
Even the Grinch himself would be charmed by this one-of-a-kind neighborhood display. Be sure to make Bazillion Lights part of your holiday festivities this year.
