Here in the great state of Massachusetts, we're more than familiar with being home to some of the largest and most noteworthy attractions within the New England area. During this time of year as we begin to enter the fall season, you'll find all sorts of whimsical events popping up around our state. If you're ready to dress up and enjoy the largest event of its kind in our neck of the woods, then be sure to attend the King Richard's Faire this year before it's run is over!
Bringing you out to eastern Massachusetts where you're only an hour south of Boston, King Richard's Faire is set up in the small town of Carver.
King Richard's Faire has become known as the largest Renaissance Festival in the New England area, an event that was originally founded back in 1982.
Situated in an 80-acre forest, you'll find that the festival's structures are permanent and set up in this area of Carver all year long.
This year, the festival takes place every weekend through October 20th, drawing in Massachusetts residents from all around the state out to Carver's eight-week-long faire.
So, what exactly can you expect to find out in this enchanting forest during this time of year?
As you explore the massive forest, you'll see everything from knights battling it out on horseback, hilarious wenches telling jokes to all through town, fire eaters, and even exotic tigers!
The event also showcases things like sword making, glass blowing, portrait painting, puppeteers, jugglers, face painting, handspun pottery, and beautiful jewelry.
If you didn't already arrive at the faire in period clothing or simply want to take home an awesome souvenir, you can head to one of the many shops that are selling merchandise and Renaissance faire goods.
As you soak in all that King Richard's Faire has to offer, with faeries frolicking about and dancers swirling all around you, you'll rightfully end up working up quite the appetite.
Luckily for those of us Massachusetts natives attending the faire, you'll quickly learn that one of the best parts about being at this event is the amazing food!
Throughout the forest, you'll get to choose from delights like enormous spit-roasted turkey legs, chowder, stew, onion rings, beer, wine, champagne, and so much more.
