Are you looking for a fun place to celebrate the holidays this year? Well, let me tell you, that Boston’s Seaport District is the place to celebrate in 2023. While there was not much going on in this section of the city just a few years back, the area has been newly revitalized with a plethora of fantastic restaurants, shops, museums, and attractions. This winter, the Seaport District is hosting a holiday celebration like no other. With weeks full of festive fun, Boston Seaport’s “Snowport” event is sure to put you in the holiday spirit.
Snowport is a winter wonderland of activities taking place from early November until the end of December. There is so much going on here that you may want to visit more than once!
Shopping, food, light displays, and an ice sculpture stroll are just a few of the highlights of the 2023 season.
If you are searching for a gift for someone on your holiday list (or maybe even yourself), you will definitely find something at the Holiday Market. The market features over 100 vendors who will be showcasing a variety of handmade items. From candles to art to home decor, you can find it here.
The market runs from November 10-December 31.
You can even pick out your Christmas tree at Snowport. The Tree Market at Snowport is open from November 17 through December 23. The market has a large variety of trees, lights, and wreaths.
Wondering how you are going to get your tree home? Don't worry about bringing it back on the “T,” tree vendor “Christmas Tree For Me" will deliver it straight to your home's front door.
The Holiday Market also features some great food and drinks. There will be food trucks, a holiday tent with sweets, and four holiday-themed bars. I am definitely planning to make a stop for a cocktail at the "Jingle Bar.”
For a cozy dining experience, I suggest eating at one of The Envoy restaurant’s heated rooftop igloos. You can enjoy some delicious food and fantastic views in this unique setting. Igloos can seat up to six people and must be reserved in advance.
"Light Up Seaport” is a festive event that you won’t want to miss. This year’s tree lighting takes place on December 1 at the Seaport Common.
Visit again on the evening of December 10 and celebrate Hanukkah. Chabad of Downtown Boston will be lighting the beautiful nine-foot Menorah at One Seaport.
Have you ever tried out curling (the sport where you slide a stone on the ice towards a target)? Well now is your chance! You can sign up to learn how to participate in this fun winter sport by taking lessons. Or if you already know how to curl, you can just play on your own. The curling lanes will remain open through the month of February and are free to use.
I can’t wait to try them out!
And you won’t want to miss seeing this girl! Betty is a giant pink Yeti who will be visiting the Seaport District straight from the Himalayas. Betty the Yeti will be appearing throughout the Snowport event at various venue spaces and activities including a special Betty the Yeti charity cocktail crawl.
Are you planning to attend Snowport? If so, we would love to know all about your experience. More information about all of the Snowport activities including dates and times of specific events can be found on the Seaport website and the Boston Seaport Facebook page.
The Hyatt Place Boston/Seaport District Hotel is a great place to stay if you are looking for accommodations in the area. More 2023 holiday fun in Massachusetts can be found at these festive Christmas towns and holiday light displays.
