2. The Seals at The New England Aquarium

The glass tank allows visitors to get up close with the aquarium's harbor seals, delighting visitors young and old. 3. Boston Public Gardens

The beautiful statehouse can seem intimidating, but you can get up close and personal and walk through the halls of the statehouse, all for free. Tours are led year round from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and focus on the history and architecture of the building.

6. The Bunker Hill Monument

If you don't mind a bit of a climb, the Bunker Hill Monument is the free Boston attraction for you. You can climb to the top of the 221-foot structure that commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill, one of the first major battles of the American Revolution.

7. The Museum of Fine Arts

The Museum of Fine Arts Boston has one of the most amazing art collections in the world, and on Wednesdays after 4 p.m. you can enjoy it all for free.
