Bring the whole family along for an glimpse into how some of Maine's most popular chocolate is made. Then, stock up on all of your favorites in the shop.
Get a behind-the-scenes view of how chocolate candy - and other goodies - are made at Haven's Candies Factory Store in Westbrook.
It gets even better. You can learn how to make your own chocolate, too.
Haven's Candies also hosts a make your own candy cane event each holiday season that you'll definitely want to get tickets to attend.
You'll need to make an appointment for a guided factory tour that will take you behind the glass, where you will watch chocolate as it's made.
Tours cost $2.50 per person, and guests must be at least eight years old to participate.
You can also join a free guided tour on Columbus Day during the factory's annual open house. The tour that day includes the opportunity to make your own candy.
If you haven't made an appointment ahead of time, you can still watch chocolate as it's made from behind the glass wall that separates the factory and the store.
After your tour, explore the store that's brimming with favorites - from fudge and meltaways to truffles and saltwater taffy.
Stock up on a slew of chocolate goodies at Haven's Candies in Westbrook, open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
