If you've lived in New Orleans for a while, you may have gotten tired of the same old same old. When you're looking to escape your routine, you need new activities to put in your roster. 1) Get a picture of your aura taken at the Metaphysical Center.
If you’re curious about what may be going on around you in other dimensions, pay a visit to the Metairie Metaphysical center at 1708 Lake Ave in Metairie. At the very least it is sure to entertain you!
2) Do a cuilnary tour of New Orleans without leaving one building.

3) Discover the succulents at the New Orleans Botanical Gardens.
There are so many amazing things going on at City Park in New Orleans, it can be easy to overlook the Botanical Gardens—but you’d be making a big mistake. There are some gorgeous plants here, but personally, I’m partial to all the amazing succulents they keep in the greenhouse.
4) Take a an aerial arts class at Crescent City Aerial Arts.
If you've ever had an itch to dare gravity and float above--check out Crescent City Aerial Arts, 4430 Euphrosine. It will certainly entertain you!
5) Watch a roller derby.
Pretty regularly, the Big Easy Rollergirls take on the competition at the UNO Lakefront Arena, and getting over there to watch is definitely going to excite and entertain you!
6) Go swimming at Lyons Pool.
There are a number of public swimming pools in New Orleans, but it’s the one at Lyons center, 614 Louisiana Ave, that is truly fun for the whole family. Closes September 4th—so pay a visit while you still can!
7) Check out glass blowing at the New Orleans Glassworks and Printmaking Studio.
Check out this glass blowing studio in the CBD, where there has been high quality glass blowing for decades. There are free demonstrations daily, which are well worth the visit!
8) Eat a cricket cookie at the Insectarium.
The Audubon Insectarium , found at 423 Canal St., is an amazing place to spend an afternoon. But it is their semi-regular cooking demonstrations--which put on display all of the incredible uses of insects in the culinary arts--that is sure to delight you.
9) Attend one of the Friday Night Fights.
Since Katrina, this gym, now located at 1632 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd, offers regular and public boxing matches that are truly astounding and unique!
10) Go Stargazing at the Louis J Roussel Jr. Planetarium in Kenner’s Rivertown.
Every week the planetarium here gives visitors an amazing laser light show that will put a smile on your face!
