Do you have your summer planned yet or are things still up in the air? Here are some of the most exciting things that you should consider doing this summer in New Orleans. We think you are going to have the time of your life! Check out what we think should be on the top of your list.
1) Visit Mardi Gras World, 1380 Port of New Orleans Place
Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World is hands-down one of the most exciting museums in New Orleans. You will love the creative and beautiful artistry that is on full display here.
2) Relax underneath the Chime tree, City Park
Sitting around under the chime tree is one of my favorite NOLA activities. You'll fall in love with the beautiful sound of the chimes blowing in the breeze. There is truly nothing else quite like it.
3) Pick up an awesome ice cream cone at Ice Cream 504, 2511 Jena St.
A lot of great ice cream can be found in New Orleans, no doubt. But this little spot is one of my favorite places for sure. And you never know what awesome flavors are going to be on tap!
4) Pay a visit to the Global Wildlife Center, 26389 Louisiana 40, Folsom, LA
If you've never been on this incredible adventure, buckle up. You are going to feel like you've traveled to a whole other country.
5) Take a hike in Northlake Nature Center, 23135 Hwy 190 in East Mandeville
This scenery here is tops, especially during warmer weather.
6) When it gets too hot, take a walk around the Museum of Death, 227 Dauphine St
Now this museum has quietly become a favorite stop in New Orleans. People have loved exploring the Museum of Death to explore a side of life that isn't always addressed.
7) Explore Botanical Gardens in City Park
So much awesome stuff is packed into City Park, it can be easy to overlook this gem. But having a walk around the gardens here is one of my favorite Sunday afternoon activities. You are going to love all of the new species here as well.
8) Visit Blue Bayou Dixie Landin'
If there's one place I love on a summer afternoon, it's Blue Bayou Dixie Landin'. Just outside of Baton Rouge, you'll love all the amazing water slides and other places just to relax and unwind.
9) Go On a Horseback Ride at Sunflower Farm & Ranch, 84080 Pierre Cemetary Rd.
Many people overlook this fun activity that is not a very far drive away from New Orleans. Take a chance on something new and see how much you enjoy being entertained here.
10) Have a Wonderful Lunch at Restaurant des Families, 7163 Barataria Blvd.
When you are looking for a way to relax and unwind in the sweltering summer, we think you think you'll be by Restaurant Des Families. It's truly beautiful and has super delicious food as well!
11) Relax in Coliseum Square Park, 1401 Camp St.
A small little spot filled with delight, an afternoon here will always bring a smile to your face. We think you will fall in love with the unique charm and grace of this park. Don't forget your picnic blanket.
