We’re always on the hunt for a bargain, and what better place to start than a flea market? For a fun-filled day of shopping, the Lafayette Jockey Lot is just the ticket. This massive open-air market is your one-stop shop for all your shopping needs, plus some things you didn’t even know you needed.
The Lafayette Jockey Lot is conveniently located right off of Interstate 49 just north of the juncture of Interstate 10.
The address is 3011 NW Evangeline Thruway in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Open every Saturday and Sunday, this open-air market is huge, so you’ll want to make sure you plan accordingly so you have enough time to check out all of the vendors.
And boy, are there are a lot of vendors! In fact, 500 of them! Stop by the information booth first so you can pick up a map and get a lay of the land. And be sure to bring the kids because the ambiance is very family-oriented.
On any given weekend you can expect more than 500 local and regional vendors displaying their goods.
People come here from all around the area, and even from as far away as Baton Rouge.
The market often hosts special events, too.
Some are themed around the holidays, while others are charity focused.
No matter when you visit, you can expect to find all sorts of treasures you'll be tempted to buy.
If you love to read, the book offerings are amazing.
From homemade soaps and terra cotta pottery...
...to automotive parts, and antiques...
...to clothing and furniture, there's an endless supply of goodies just waiting for you.
And with vendors always being added in the spring and fall, in addition to a wide array of children's activities, no two visits are ever the same! That's one of the things that makes it among the best flea markets in Louisiana.
All that shopping is bound to work up an appetite, so be sure to swing by the food court to fuel up between booths.
The food court has a little bit of everything, including tasty tacos, coffee, parfaits, and more!
And don't forget to leave room for dessert!
There is something for something for every palate here.
For more information, visit the market website, and don't forget to follow along on Facebook so you never miss out on any upcoming events or new vendors.
