Movie nights are great, but you know what would make them even better? Gathering around underneath ancient oak trees with your favorite beverage and your favorite people. City Park is hosting Brews and Boos, a movie series showcasing scary movies that will put you in the spirit for Halloween, which is just around the corner. Grab a blanket and maybe some bug spray, because you won’t want to miss this unique event.
For the next three Fridays, City Park is going to be playing horror films in the grassy area around Popp Fountain.
If you’re a horror flick fan, then you’re going to love this event.
There will be tons of green space to sprawl out on, so you’ll be able to safely watch the movie while ensuring social distancing protocols.
Masks won’t be required, but you’re welcome to wear one. There will also be hand sanitizing stations nearby.
Each ticket includes access to an open beer bar, Tito’s handmade vodka Jello shots, and some salted peanuts.
The beers on deck will be Michelob Ultra, Paradise Park, Bud Light, and Modelo Especial.
Due to the nature of the event, no one under 21 will be allowed in.
So leave the kids at home for this one.
Bring a few blankets or chairs so you can sit back and enjoy the movie.
You’re also welcome to bring your own food and beverages, just be sure to throw away any trash before you leave so we can keep City Park beautiful.
Here’s the line up:
August 28: “A Quiet Place”
September 4: “Shaun of the Dead”
September 11: “It Follows”
Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and you’ll want to arrive early so you can snag a good patch of grass and get settled before the movie begins at 8 p.m.
To follow social distancing protocols, only 50 tickets will be available per movie night, so you’ll want to purchase your tickets ahead of time. In the event that it may rain, then the movie will be shown indoors at the Arbor Room, which is just next to Popp Fountain.
Tickets are $35 per person and you can purchase them here.
