If you’re already having post Jazz Fest blues, don’t worry. There’s an incredible 3-day festival taking place in just a couple of weeks that’s the perfect way to kick off summer. If you’ve ever been to this free festival, you’re in for a real treat. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
Bayou Boogaloo will be descending on Mid-City on May 17-19 this year, and you won’t want to miss it.
It takes place on the third weekend of May every year, and it continues to get bigger and better every year.
What started as a humble one-day, one-stage event in 2006 has grown into a massive three-day, four-stage festival that attracts over 30,000 people.
The festival takes place along the beautiful Bayou St. John. Gather up a group of your friends and come out to this incredible, free festival.
There will be four-stages along the bayou featuring both local musicians and nationally known talent. This year you can expect to dance to the tunes of Cowboy Mouth, Amanda Shaw, Raw Oyster Cult, and dozens of others.
Be sure to swing by the Art Market and check out the original works of art from 60 Louisiana artists. From framed art to candles and jewelry, there’s a variety of genres and something for everyone.
And of course, there will be food.
30 Louisiana vendors will be out and about, serving all the best local cuisine. From BBQ to beignets, you’ll be feasting on some incredible bites from local eateries like Bratz Y’all, Bonafried, Mid City Pizza, Gulf Tacos, and dozens of others.
Bring an inflatable and float down the bayou to get the full experience. Just don't forget the sunscreen!
Mark your calendars: Bayou Boogaloo takes place May 17, 18, and 19, rain or shine.
