Audubon Park has been an Uptown treasure for 150 years and, like a fine wine, only seems to get better with age. The 350-acre park is one of the most beautiful parks in New Orleans, and that’s before we even get into the Audubon Zoo, which is also located within the park. It’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon if you need to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and lose yourself in some enchanting scenery for a while.

The jogging path is a favorite for locals.
Just look at how picture-perfect that is!
The 1.8-mile paved path winds all throughout the park.
The trail is also open to rollerblading and cycling.
Whether you're on foot or on wheels, the trail is one of the most beautiful trails in New Orleans.
You'll catch glimpses of the lagoons while shaded from the canopies of oak trees above.
You might even decide to veer off and find a quiet spot to sit for a spell.
You’ll even see some wildlife along the way.
Ducks. Lots and lots of ducks. Black-bellied whistling ducks, to be more specific. Of course, you’ll also have a good chance of seeing an anhinga, egret, or a heron wading in the water.
The eastern side of the park is home to a bird rookery that’s home to hundreds of wading birds.
Great egrets, cattle egrets, snowy egrets, blue herons, and double-crested cormorants are just a few of the feathered friends that call the park home.
