This hidden gem is the perfect day trip for anyone looking to have some beach fun without driving over to the Gulf Coast.
But you’ll feel like you’re right on the coast when you arrive!
First things first: you're going to want to rent a cabana.
Not only do these bad boys provide ample (and much needed) shade, but each cabana includes seating and a grill, so you can bring some grub to grill up in between swimming sessions.
Shade is very important during those hot Louisiana summers, so plan accordingly! You're also welcome to bring your own gear, including umbrellas and beach chairs.
Once you've settled in your cabana, it's time to sink your toes in the sand.
Pull up a pile of beach and sip on your favorite beverage while soaking in the rays.
The lake features several inflatables that will definitely bring out the kid in you.
Slides, trampolines, and blob bags will keep you and your family entertained for hours! They also offer paddle boat, kayak, and stand-up paddle board rentals, so you can explore the lake further.
White Sands Lake Day Beach is open from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. six days a week.
They're closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly! Admission prices for adults are $18 (12+) and children are $12. Your ticket is good for the entire day, and you can come and go as you wish as long as you show your receipt.
