Some people like modern materialistic items, but antiques are quite popular in Kentucky. Items crafted over 100 years ago were often made by hand. Artisans created furniture, statues, trunks, and even picture frames with tools and time, instead of factory reproduction. That's why in many cases, slight differences can be found in the craftsmanship. There are those that would consider these imperfections, but I believe, they simply make the objects more individualized. The crafter will sometimes put an "out of place" mark, as their way of signing their creation.
