1. Evel Kneivel Museum - 2047 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, Kansas
This preserved fort operated from 1859 to 1878, and has been kept in great condition to preserve our history. You can tour these buildings or visit during one of their reenactments.
This odd art installation all started when a man was told to "pick his trucks up off the lawn" and well, he definitely did! To stick it to the man, he created Truckhenge, this art installation that's been well loved by occasional visitors for years.

5. Buffalo Bill Cultural Center - 3083 US-83, Oakley, Kansas
If you've ever wanted to see some of the things that Buffalo Bill got up to during his lifetime, as well as some travel information and a gift shop full of Kansas gifts.
6. The Big Well - 315 S Sycamore St., Greensburg, Kansas
The world's largest hand-dug well sits in Greensburg, Kansas, and even though the tornado that wiped out the town tried its hardest, it couldn't break this giant well. Since then, they've rebuilt a visitors center style museum that tells the history of the town, the tornado, and this giant well.
7. Big Brutus - 6509 NW 60th St., West Mineral, Kansas
Speaking of giant things, Big Brutus used to be the largest Bucyrus-Erie model 1850-B electric shovel in the 60s and 70s, and it now sits here in the center of a museum, making you feel very, very small.
8. The Greyhound Hall of Fame - 407 S Buckeye Ave., Abilene, Kansas
You may not know, but Kansas is home to the hall of fame for winning Greyhounds all over. Even if you haven't seen a greyhound race before, you can respect the history of the practice even though it doesn't often happen anymore.

9. Kansas Barbed Wire Museum - 120 1st St., La Crosse, Kansas
Though you might not think barbed wire could be interesting, this museum makes sure you can see the evolution and use of different types of barbed wire.
This toilet-shaped restroom with a toilet paper path is not only a stop, but the #2 ranked restroom in the whole country. It's covered in mosaics of all sorts of objects and colors, and beautiful to look at from any angle.
11. Davis Memorial - 606 Iowa St., Hiawatha, Kansas
This odd memorial might be a little bit more than you're used to seeing in cemeteries, but Mr. Davis loved his wife so much he made a memorial of their life together.

All 50 states have their own Capitol buildings, but the Kansas State Capitol in Topeka is a little more unique than most. Did you know this is the only U.S. state Capitol building where tourists are able to walk around the dome to view the city? As you can imagine, this offers up some pretty incredible views, and it's no wonder that this historic building is one of the most popular things to do in Topeka, KS. It's a beautiful piece of architecture and the views offered up by a walk along the dome are unbelievably stunning.
The Kansas State Capitol building houses the state's executive and legislative branches. Previous capitol buildings were constructed in the 1800s when the state was still a territory in both Lecompton and Topeka.
This is an impressive building. At 304 feet high, it's actually a little taller than the United States Capitol (though the dome is a good bit smaller in diameter).
Ever wondered about the statue up top? It was added in 2002 and depicts a member of the Kansa tribe pointing an arrow up at the North Star. Its name is Ad Astra, a reflection of the sttate motto Ad Astra Per Aspera ("to the stars through difficulty").
A visit here is fascinating and quite informative, and one of the highlights is undoubtedly a trip up to the top of the dome. You'll have to climb 296 steps from the fifth floor to the top to get there, but the views are definitely worth it.

However, Bartlett Arboretum has all kinds of gems, no matter the season, and many of the trees here transform in the fall, showing off jeweled hues that are just as gorgeous as spring's blossoms.

You don’t have to head to our rural areas for fall fun in the Sunflower State. You’ll find Schaake’s Pumpkin Patch right in Lawrence, KS. This 28-acre patch has free admission and offers u-pick pumpkins, with many sizes and varieties available.
Wow Factor: In addition to the u-pick pumpkins, there’s also a corn maze here, too.

The Little River Fall Festival is held each year on the last Saturday in October.
