4. Overland Park Arboretum's frozen waterfall (okay, ALL of Overland Park Arboretum when covered in snow)
Every year, when the snow falls and the water freezes, we get to bask in the beauty of this waterfall frozen in place. They also have luminary walks every year, where the cold ground is lit up with candles along the path. It's just gorgeous! 5. The penguin march at the Kansas City Zoo
Can you imagine getting to see the penguins out of their enclosure to enjoy the snow on the ground? The penguin marches are very popular, for obvious reasons, and they are scheduled from late November into December. 6. Powell Gardens' Festival of Lights - Kingsville, Missouri
The lighting of the trees here at Powell Gardens is made possible by KCP&L, and they've got a great plan for it. Come explore this magical holiday lights display in Kansas City this year.
7. Strawberry Hill Museum's Olde World Christmas - Kansas City, Kansas
On the weekends, you can see themed Christmas rooms dressed up to represent many different cultures, each displayed in their own room. We can't get enough of this museum in Kansas City all year, but winter might just be our favorite.
8. Sledding down "Suicide Hill"
