Indiana might not be well known for an abundance of swinging bridges, but there is one swinging bridge that is quite famous in the state. Nestled in historic Richmond, it is famous not because it is the largest bridge in the state, but because of the scary history behind it.
The Whitewater Gorge Park is the site of the Whitewater River in Richmond, Indiana. Along the Gorge is a small swinging bridge, which has a lot of scary stories attached to it.
The Whitewater River Suspension Footbridge in Richmond, Indiana may not look terrifying at first glance. Many swinging bridges are intimidating because of the steep drops or vast bodies of water they guide traffic over. This bridge, however, is rumored to be the site of some strange paranormal activity.
Over the years, there have been numerous deaths that have occurred under the bridge, and many believe these deaths are the result of spirits, or some other force from the other side. The site of the bridge itself is pretty eerie, particularly at night. It's no wonder why many people believe this bridge may be haunted.
The gorge beneath the bridge has also been the site of strange activity. Check out the below video taken by York Paranormal to see if the tale of paranormal activity here holds up.
