There's nothing better than enjoying the fall weather: the crisp air, a nice hot beverage, your favorite sweater, and of course, one of our favorite things to do in the fall in Indiana, finding the perfect pumpkin. It's that special time of year when local farms swing open their gates for good old-fashioned farmyard fun, and we've got some of the best pumpkin patches in Indiana you'll want to check out this season. Many of these farms offer much more than pumpkins, so be sure to carve out ample time in your day so you can spend a few hours enjoying these fall festivities.

1. Steele Farms
Open seasonally each fall, Steele Farms is a family-owned and operated working farm that’s been in operation since 1880. During the fall, this beautiful farm transforms into an abundance of harvests with a pumpkin patch you can wander through, a market where you can pick up everything from home decor to mums, and so much more. There’s a concession stand for you to enjoy tasty snacks like apple cider slashes and caramel apples in between finding the best pumpkin and finding your way out of the corn maze.
2. Advanced Tree Technology
Even though the name Advanced Tree Technology suggests a place you go when you need a new tree, they're also home to an incredible u-pick apple orchard and one of the best pumpkin patches in Indiana. You might even come home with a few new shrubs to add to your landscape!
3. Tuttle Orchards
Now in its fourth generation, Tuttle Orchards is a family-owned and operated pumpkin farm in Indiana that always has a fantastic fall lineup of activities the entire family can enjoy. In addition to pumpkin picking, there’s also apple picking, a corn maze, u-pick wildflowers, and even a bee hive you can observe!
4. Stuckey Farms
For over 50 years, Stuckey Farms has been a destination for families who want fresh produce. It's a great place to get a pumpkin, but you can also stock up on all your favorite produce while you're here.
5. Russell Farms
If you’re looking for things to do in the fall in Indiana, you can’t go wrong with a visit to Russell Farms. Several varieties of pumpkins are grown right on the farm and waiting for you to come pluck them, plus this year the farm will have two different corn mazes a petting zoo, and a country store where you can take home sweet treats like fudge and apple butter.
6. Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch
Open each autumn for tons of seasonal fun, Harvest Tyme Family Farm puts on quite the fall festival, and you’re going to love it. Families with little ones of all ages will enjoy farm-favorite activities like hayrides, a petting zoo, and even a few amusement rides in between picking all the best pumpkins in Indiana.
7. Amazing Fall Fun
Pumpkin patches and corn mazes go together like peanut butter and jelly, and you’ll find both at Amazing Fall Fun, home to Indiana’s largest corn maze. There’s also a jumping pillow, hayrides, a straw mountain, duck races, and even a straw bale maze for the younger ones to enjoy. This pumpkin farm in Indiana boasts more than 40 different varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and Indian corn that you can pick right off the vine or grab one of the pre-picked ones.
8. Smith Family Farms
Did you know the Smith Family Farms has been in operation for more than 100 years? This farm has been passed down through several generations. It's an incredible place if you're looking for things to do in the fall in Indiana. Every Saturday and Sunday during the month of October, head over to this beloved pumpkin farm in Indiana for pony rides, hay rides, and all your favorite fall activities.
9. The Apple Works
Apple Works is an orchard that features over 50 different varieties of produce including apples and pumpkins for you to enjoy. When you want fresh produce (or just a pumpkin for Halloween) this is a great place to go.
10. Piney Acres Farm
Every year come fall, Piney Acres Farm opens for the season and hosts an event many families have turned into their tradition. The 73-acre farm has loads of pumpkins ready for you as well as animal encounters, hay rides, and much more. Don't forget to swing by during the holidays and grab a Christmas tree from them!
11. Lark Ranch
Previous guests agree Lark Ranch is a great place to go if you want to experience the fall season. There's two locations and each one is chock-full of festive fall fun the entire family will love.
12. Kregel's Pumpkin Patch
Did you know Kregel's Pumpkin Patch was the very first farm and pumpkin patch of its kind in the northwestern portion of the state? From unlimited hay rides to barrel trains and pedal cars, you'll run out of energy before you run out of things to do at this beloved pumpkin farm in Indiana. Please note that Kregel's Pumpkin Patch is only open seasonally.
