The Popcorn Festival in Indiana is one of the numerous events that take place in our great state every year. Dozens — if not more — of awesome festivals are put on by different groups for different reasons. Some celebrate a season or holiday and others are dedicated to the arts and music or certain groups. It all depends on who's holding it and for what reason. And sometimes these special occasions are merely to enjoy a delightful snack loved by a number of people across the country. This old-school tradition in Indiana has been taking place for more than half a century! When it comes to fun stuff to do in Indiana, few things top a wholesome local tradition that attracts thousands. Let's take a look at one of the best festivals in Indiana to take place Aug. 1-4, 2024!
Very few snacks are as timeless as good old-fashioned popcorn.
I think I can speak for just about everyone when I say that the vast majority of us have tried it and loved it - it's not easy to find someone who isn't a fan of popcorn in one of its many iterations, from buttered and salty to caramel or truffle or anything in between.
So, enter the Van Buren Popcorn Festival, which is now in its 51st year - it's been going for half a century and doesn't appear to be slowing down any decade soon.
The entire block is a part of the fun, and one of the most delicious annual festivals in Indiana lasts for three legendary, delicious days.
So, what kind of fun and games can you expect at this Indiana Popcorn Festival?
Too many exciting events are planned to mention in one short paragraph, but some of the coolest highlights are the baby parade (so cute), the various 5K runs, and, of course, the classic car show that takes place on Saturday from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
It's a free, fun, family-oriented affair, with live music, parades, games, vendors, and, of course, all the popcorn your soul can handle.

The Chalk Walk takes place on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with registration from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Also, on Saturday, participate in Mini Golf at Central Christian Church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Stop by the several food vendors and order some of your favorite festival treats.
We like that plenty of space is provided to sit down and eat.
And don't forget: Eat all the popcorn you can!

Seriously, the fun is non-stop from Thursday until the end of the day on Saturday, so wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a lawn chair, and have a total blast.
Speaking of a blast - stick around for the spectacular fireworks show set off at the fire station at 10:45 p.m.!
