When you think about spring and summer in Indiana, are there any specific flowers that come to mind? Perhaps sunflowers, or maybe even lavender? Because if it's lavender, boy, have I got good news for you: coming up soon (on June 17th) is the sixth annual Lavender Daze Festival held by an amazing local farm in the small town of Hope. When it comes to summer festivals in Indiana, all of them are pretty awesome, but this one is particularly fragrant and definitely worthy of a day out. So come out and check out Lavender Daze, an exquisite lavender festival in Indiana that's sure to leave you smelling amazing and feeling great:
White Diamond Lavender Farms is a tour de force of lavender-related goodness.
It's all sorts of things all wrapped into one: a farm, a wedding and event venue, a store, and sometimes even festival grounds.
Depending on the time of year, it occasionally holds classes, you-pick times, and much more.
...but every summer for the last several years, it's been up to something else: holding what might just be the best lavender festival in Indiana.
Come out on June 17th and indulge; you know how the saying goes: live, laugh, lavender.
...that's how it goes now.
Anyway, I digress. Attending the festival will be assorted awesome vendors, artists, artisans, lavender wine, slushies, food trucks, and so much more.
Naturally, there will be heaps of lavender and lavender-adjacent goodies to take home with you.
It's a family-friendly event, and there will be activities even for the kids. Folks of all ages will fall in love with this spectacular summer event. Personally, I'm already excited for next year's and this one hasn't even happened yet.
Fun fact: the barn on the grounds was originally raised by Amish folks hoping to raise shrimp indoors.
It was dismantled and rebuilt fairly recently, but it's still two centuries old. I wonder what kind of stories this old barn could tell if it could speak. I'm fairly certain that, if it were capable of having a preference, it would likely be much happier with lavender than with shrimp farming.
The owners of this little slice of paradise are always upgrading and enhancing, so who knows what it'll look like for next year's festival!
I, for one, am excited to find out.
