I would be lying if I said I had a vast knowledge of all things church and religion related. This does not, however, mean I cannot appreciate the beauty of the exterior or interior of a church building. In fact, one thing I’ve noticed about some of the churches in Indiana is how incredibly beautiful the architecture is. With that said, I may not be able to tell you tons about any of these churches. But, I can admire their beauty as well as the talent of the photographers who took these pictures!
1. St. Maurice Catholic Church and School
You can find this church sitting in Napoleon. Did you know the school attached to the church was built in 1911?
2. First United Methodist Church
This church can be found in Connersville. I love the many different roof designs on this church!
3. First United Methodist Church
This particular First United Methodist Church is located in Bloomington.
4. Saint Meinrad Archabbey
The physical address of this church is 200 Hill Drive, St Meinrad. Did you know it is one of just two archabbeys in all of the United States?
5. Haunted Crown Hill Cemetery Church
This is a beautiful picture of the church in Crown Hill Cemetery. Do you think it might be haunted? Most people do!
6. St. John's Lutheran Church
Another church in Napoleon. This church was constructed in 1924.
7. St. Peter Lutheran Church
This gorgeous church was constructed back in 1877. I think it looks pretty good for being such an old building! You can find it in Spencerville.
8. First Presbyterian Church
This beautiful church is located in Portland. I love the giant windows and what looks like a tower sitting on top of the church. The design is beautiful.
9. St. Patrick's Catholic Church
You didn’t think this list was only going to be the exterior of churches did you? I’ve always been pretty blown away by the inside of a church. This one, for example, is incredible. Check it out on Fort Wayne if you're interested.
10. Inside the Basilica of The Sacred Heart
This beautiful building is located on the campus of Notre Dame which is in South Bend. The interior of this church is absolutely breathtaking. Easily my favorite on this list.
I’ve mentioned it in several articles before and I had someone point it out in the comments yesterday, so I’m going to mention it again – the articles like this would not be possible if it were not for the talented photographers of Indiana. The people who go around the state snapping pictures to share with us. I thank you all for your hard work and passion! If you enjoyed this article please leave a comment and share with your friends in honor of the photographers who took these pictures!
