There are some holiday traditions in the Hoosier State that we just can't get enough of, like...okay, all of 'em. There are so many things to do in Indiana during the winter that it might be hard to narrow it down to just a few things (but why narrow things down, to begin with? Just do all of it), but there are a few events that are must-dos each and every year. Take, for example, the twinkly, magical delight that is the Festival of Trees in Indiana. You can't miss this amazing spectacle that graces the halls of the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, making spirits merry and bright like nothing else can!
The 2022 Festival of Trees began on November 11th, and it runs all the way until January 7th, 2023, so there's plenty of time to enjoy it.
Come to an architecturally stunning building - the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center - and behold immersive holiday décor in a way you've never experienced before...
...well, unless you've attended the Festival of Trees before.
But, even still, each year always seems to outdo the last, and this year's festivities are no different.
Admire no less than 75 elaborately decorated trees, which represent all sorts of things - organizations, businesses, households, the works.
Vote for your favorite and see whose tree will be crowned victorious this year! The competition is remarkably fierce, so... come prepared.
There will also be a gorgeous, 30-foot centerpiece tree to bring the entire event together, and it's something to behold!
Enjoy events like Caroling Through The Holidays, and check out a display from the Christmas classic A Christmas Story, too.
Alternatively, you can visit on Tuesdays between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to experience the trees by night.
It's a truly magical, extraordinary time, and we strongly suggest visiting at least once during the day and then again on Twilight Tuesday.
Of course, you're sure to run into all kinds of fun and friendly faces, including a few you might just recognize...
For all the details about this year's Festival of Trees in Indiana, you'll want to visit the official Indiana Historical Society website. There, you'll find a gallery, a calendar of events, admission information, and more - everything you'll need to know to plan your adventure! This event is perfect for families, date nights, or even just an evening of flying solo - and there's lots of time left!
