Neon lights, catchy music, incredible high scores, and the smell of nachos, hot dogs, and pizza at the concession stands. This is just the tip of what draws people to arches. In the state of Indiana, there are several of them for you to explore. For example, there's a makeshift pinball arcade that makes an appearance once a year at 1043 Virginia Avenue. Here are some incredible arcades in Indiana you are going to want to check out.
1. Holiday World
Obviously, Holiday World is an amusement park. But, you know what amusement parks have? They have arcades. There are tons of arcade games in Holiday World and you can enjoy free soft drinks and put on free sunscreen while you play those arcade games. Holiday World is just waiting for you in Santa Claus.
2. Greattimes Family Fun Center
Located at 5341 Elmwood Avenue. This gets second place on the list because it's a personal favorite of mine. This is an explosive family fun center with both indoor and outdoor activities. The arcade is the only reason why I go to this establishment though. They have two floors of games that give out a lot of tickets and the prize table is incredible. They even have pretty good pizza if you get hungry while you're gaming. They do also have birthday specials and they are more for older children. It's kind of like an upgraded Chuckie Cheese.
3. Latitude 39
Located at 4016 E. 82nd Street, this place has a cigar bar, restaurant, bowling alley, and game room. It's coined as an entertainment center and dining establishment. The arcade houses more than 70 different games for their guests to enjoy.
4. Tilt Studio
At 49 W. Maryland Street, Tilt Studio is located on the fourth floor of the Circle Center Mall downtown. It's a gaming center that even has laser tag if you're interested. Even though I live downtown, I’ve only been to the arcade once. You aren’t going to rack up tons of tickets unless you have a lot of money or are really good at the games, but that doesn’t make it any less fun.
5. Rascals Fun Zone
Located at 629 U.S. 31 in Whiteland this place is home to more than 50 different arcade games for you to enjoy including SnowCross, Wheel of Fortune, and Dawn of War. The games are constantly being changed and new ones are being added for an exciting experience.
6. That Fun Place
That Fun Place is a game center located at 707 S. Madison Avenue in Greenwood. In addition to their gaming center, they also have 18 holes of glow golf, bumper cars, air blaster cannons, pirate laser tag, bouncers, and inflatable slides. There's a second That Fun Place located at 1618 N State Street in Greenfield too.
7. Jak's Warehouse
You'll find this indoor play center at 221 U.S. 41, Schererville. So much more than just a basic arcade, this is a place with laser tag and tons of places for children to play.
8. MegaPlay
MegaPlay is the name of another arcade located at 2500 Miracle Lane # D, Mishawaka. It's a family entertainment center with food, fun, and lots of other attractions. They even have specials if you want to have a birthday party in the center.
9. Main Street Amusements
This arcade is located at 642 Main Street, Lafayette. This is the arcade you need to visit if you have a love for pinball machines as it's known for being the largest pinball arcade in the state with more than 40 different machines.
10. Indiana Grand Racing & Casino
Ok, so this is not an arcade for children. But, I felt like it should still make the list because it's an arcade for adults. Adults like to play video games too right? This one is located at 4200 N Michigan Rd, Shelbyville and I’ve always wanted to go there.
Whether you have children or not, arcade games are a lot of fun. I’m very much an adult, but that would not stop me from going to an arcade and having a good time. Here are just 10 places for you to go and play some games. Keep in mind, this list is not all of the options. Before you jump my throat about not including someone – I have to be able to punch in Google and find a website with pictures in order to use them and some of the arcades just DO NOT come up with you do research. You are ALWAYS welcomed to suggest stuff that should be added to the piece. Please share this with your friends!
