A few days ago you learned about some of the museums that were too weird for words in Indiana. Truth be told, we have some "normal" museums here too. In fact, here are ten of my personal favorites!

1. Angel Mounds State Historic Site

Angel Mounds State Historic Site is located in Evansville. With a gift shop, facility rentals, and trails, this Historic Site is bound to make your experience unforgettable. Well preserved, there are 412 acres to explore. Angel Mounds was the largest settlement before the state became Indiana.

2. Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum

You can find the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum at 1600 Wayne Street, Auburn. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum has over 120 vehicles and other artifacts related to automobiles! There is even a library to brush up on all you need to know about vehicles.

3. Brauer Museum of Art

Located in Valparaiso is the Valparaiso University. Located in the Center for the Arts on the Valparaiso University campus is the Brauer Museum of Art. The Brauer Museum of Art is the home to 19th, 20th, and 21st century American art. This museum also has the largest collection of work done by Junius R. Sloan. Junius R. Sloan was born in 1827 and died in 1900. With exhibits and events, the Brauer Museum of Art will provide you with an unforgettable experience.

4. Buckley Homestead Living History Farm

Buckley Homestead Living History Farm is located in Lowell. The Buckley Homestead Living History Farm is divided into four parts: Main House Museum, School, Pioneer Farm, and Back Again. They even have a World War II event and a Legend of Sleepy Hollow event, both happening annually.

5. Carnegie Center for Art & History

Located in New Albany is the Carnegie Center for Art & History. The Carnegie Center for Art & History has three permanent exhibits and other exhibits that change periodically. This museum is also home to a contemporary art gallery. There is even a Family Fun Workshop on the second Saturday of every month! With educational experiences for kids and adults, this is an experience you should not miss out on!

6. Children's Museum of Evansville

In Evansville is a great museum for children. The Children’s Museum of Evansville is an interactive museum. With three floors of galleries and exhibits to excite even the most adult of children, the fun is never ending at the Children’s Museum of Evansville. There is a toddler area, a Quack Factory for water fun, and even an Event Room for you to rent for birthday parties and other special events.

7. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis

To find 20 interactive exhibits look no further than the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis located in Indianapolis! Some of these exhibits include the fun Hot Wheels: Race to Win, Dinosphere, Inside Hollywood Film & TV! You’re On the Set, and SciencePort. You can even find activities all over their website for the children. Take a break from electronics and go to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. It will provide for lifelong memories of your family time together!

8. Elwood Haynes Museum

The Elwood Haynes Museum is located in Kokomo. This museum is actually the mansion of the man who was the first to produce vehicles commercially. In the Elwood Haynes Museum you can find over 15,000 documents and pictures from Haynes personal and business correspondences dating back to 1877! You can also find many of his inventions on display. Haynes also invented stainless steel and stellite. The Elwood Haynes Museum has been open to the public since 1967. You should definitely visit this historica museum if you are a car lover and or collector. This museum will provide you with an unforgettable memory!

9. Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art

The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art is located in Indianapolis. You can find art and artifacts in the Native American, Western, and Contemporary groups. There is dining, which is fairly priced, a gift shop, and exhibits. They even host special events and festivals. You can see extraordinary pieces that exhibit the ways of the westerns and the Native Americans at this amazing museum. The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art is sure to leave you with great memories.

10. Fort Wayne Museum of Art

The Fort Wayne Museum of Art is located in Fort Wayne. The Fort Wayne Museum has several changing exhibits for viewing. They also have several different genres of art. You can experience beautiful and distinguishing art here at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. There is a gift ship and even a library! Plan your visit now, before the exhibits change on you!
