Lord, we've been having a rainy summer. Sometimes rain can ruin your plans, but with so many awesome things to do entirely indoors, that doesn't have to be the case. We're counting down ten great things that you can do in Illinois when the weather just will not cooperate:

1. The Art Institute of Chicago

Voted #1 museum in the world, it has to be #1 on our list. With a world-class collection, beautiful facilities, and always-changing and always-exciting exhibitions, you have to spend a day here. Or more.

2. iFly (Chicago, Rosemont, Naperville)

Your dream of skydiving can finally become a reality...without the risk involved. Follow your dream in a controlled setting. Great to go with groups, makes for great photos!

3. Key Lime Cove (Gurnee)

You can enjoy the fun of a water park when it's raining or even when it becomes snowy. There are tons of water park (and non-water park) activities for kids and adults alike.

4. Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (Springfield)

Lincoln is one of the best presidents of all time and we are fortunate to have such a great museum honoring him. You will delve deep into the era and circumstances surrounding Lincoln's rise to presidency and the challenges he faced in office. A true must-see.

5. Shedd Aquarium (Chicago)

One of the best aquariums in the world is right here in Chicago. The dolphin shows are excellent, and there is a wide variety of fish and other creatures for you to see. Don't miss the belugas.

6. Scratch Brewery (Ava)

Southern Illinois is almost Kentucky, so it's not hard to believe that they are taking that influence into their beer and spirits craft. Scratch Brewery is a good example of quality beer in a great atmosphere. The food is awesome, too. This is the place to go after spending a day in the Shawnee National Forest.

7. Volo Auto Museum (Volo)

People come from all over the world to see this car collection. You can expect to see everything you want--and more--from antiques, to Hollywood cars, to just plain bizarre cars. Fun for the whole family, car enthusiast or not.

8. Harrah's (Joliet)

Harrah's offers a flavor of Vegas with a solid buffet, some good entertainment, and all the games you'd want to play in a fun, carefree atmosphere.

9. Children's Museum of Illinois (Decatur)

This museum is truly geared towards kids, with tons of activities and hands-on exhibits. Your kid is guaranteed to have the best time ever. And adults will get a kick out of some of the fun things, too.

10. Woodfield Mall (Schaumburg)

What's more fun than going shopping when the weather turns? Woodfield Mall has every store you could think of--and more--as well as some great places to eat.
