The best way to get to this amazing attraction is by public transportation, but there's no need to be intimidated as there are many different trains outside the city to take you downtown. You can get on as far away as Kenosha, Wisconsin on the north side, and far south and east as South Bend, Indiana.
The Chicago Metra has several lines that go as far out as University Park, Manhattan, Joliet, Aurora, Elburn, Elgin, Harvard, McHenry, Fox Lake, Antioch, and Winthrop Harbor, Illinois (the last stop before Kenosha). These lines make several stops in the suburbs. Those who live in the city will take the "L' or a bus. If you're coming from the northwest corner of Indiana, you could take the South Shore line to Millenium Station to get into the city.
Situated in Chicago's stunning West Loop neighborhood, this interactive art museum is located nearest to the Racine stop on the the Blue Line or Morgan Station which is accessible by the Green/Pink Line. If your first train takes you to Millennium Station, your next step will be to find one of these lines nearby and take it towards the appropriate stop.
