Silver Rapids is a magical water park that can be found at Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg. Since it's located indoors, the water park truly boasts the best of both worlds. Oh, and it's here that you'll find one of the most marvelous lazy rivers in the West.
Unlike most water parks, Silver Rapids is a year long attraction that you can enjoy no matter what season it is. The park itself maintains a tropical temperature of 84 degrees even on Idaho's hottest and coldest days. As you can imagine, this is the perfect temperature for floating!
The North Fork Lazy River is a 315-foot long paradise. Surrounding Minors Island, it slowly floats you around the entirety of the park at a leisurely and relaxing pace. This is a timeless activity that just never gets old.
Both young and old will enjoy hours of fun on the North Fork. Children must be accompanied by adults, but that's just fine for creating some unforgettable family memories.
Maybe you're the type of person that like a little more excitement than the lazy river can provide. Don't worry—Silver Rapids has got you covered. Their most notable attraction is the one-of-a-kind "FlowRider". This is a continuous wave that you can actually surf on (or body board) as it pumps out a whopping 60,000 gallons of water per minute at a speed of 35 miles per hour.
Kids will absolutely love trying their hand at completing the floating obstacle course called "The Crossing". Complete with floating lily pads and an overhead cargo net, this thing is just way too much fun.
There's no better place to experience swimming for the very first time than Silver Rapids. The Pollywog Pond is perfect for the youngsters since it contains a super shallow water pool and two kiddie slides. Young or old, this indoor waterpark has it all.
Spend hours on the lazy river, try surfing the wave, or simply sunbathe by your own personal cabana (Yes, you can actually get a tan under the park's clear ceiling). The possibilities are endless! Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. There is nothing quite like spending a hot summer day at the water park. Here in Idaho, we have several water parks that make for incredible day trips including one of our favorites — Roaring Springs. Located in Meridian, this is one of the largest water parks in the country with activities for individuals of all ages including the Endless River, a 0.25-mile lazy river where you’ll find us all summer long.

Roaring Springs Waterpark is one of the most popular summer destinations in Treasure Valley. This park features more than 20 attractions including those that will make your heart race to those where you can sit back and relax.
But if you are like me, when I visit a water park, I typically head straight for the lazy river. Roaring Springs is a bit unique because it has two rivers to enjoy — Endless River and Class 5 Canyon.
This is a family-friendly lazy river that is one-quarter-mile long. As you weave through the park, you’ll travel at a slower pace, simply enjoying your time in the water.
If you want something a little more adventurous, check out Class 5 Canyon. This is Idaho’s first action river and rather than a lazy float, you will ride whitewater waves.
Kickboards are provided and there is no height requirement. However, all guests under 48 inches are strongly encouraged to wear life jackets.
Of course, after you ride on the river of your choice, continue your summer adventure by heading to attractions like Snake River Run or Corkscrew Canyon.
And when you want some time out of the water, rent a cabana and enjoy many amenities such as complimentary large lockers, ice water, free Wi-Fi, and the ability to order hand-delivered food and drinks.
