That title may contain a lot of fancy engineering words, but you don't have to be an expert in dams to be impressed by Dworshak Dam located in Clearwater County. Just seeing this massive dam is enough to take your breath away! Better yet, plan a visit to the dam and its visitor center where you can enjoy a guided tour of the dam's ins and outs. It makes for a unique (and informative) way to spend the day, that's for sure.

Explore one of Idaho's most extraordinary manmade wonders with a visit to Dworshak Dam and Reservoir near Ahsahka. Considered the third tallest dam in the United States, this is one destination that's worth seeing!

In addition to being the nation's third tallest dam, Dworshak Dam is the tallest straight-axis concrete dam in the Western Hemisphere. With a height of 717-feet, the sight of this magnificent dam is enough to take your breath away.

If you've never seen the dam for yourself, consider it high time to pay a visit. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, you can actually receive a guided tour of the dam. Tours are offered daily during the summer, and by arrangement during the rest of the year.

During the tour, you'll get an up-close look at the 1603 galley, the north tower, and the top of the dam. Tours are offered twice per day: one at 10:00 a.m. and the other at 1:00 p.m. Tours are first come, first served.

The Dworshak Dam Visitor Center boasts a wealth of information regarding the history and culture of the area. From native wildlife found in the area to the workers that brought this dam to life, you're bound to learn something new while exploring all of the exhibits.

Boise, Idaho has a lot going on lately. The state's capital city has exploded with new places to eat, drink, and play, which means we're constantly discovering new things to do in this beautiful city. One of Boise's newest attractions is JUMP, which stands for Jack's Urban Meeting Place. This unique destination is not easily described, though it calls itself a "community gathering place and creative center." If you're looking to get to know this eccentric attraction, the self-guided Walk and Wander Tour is the perfect place to start.

Centrally located in downtown Boise between 9th and 11th Street, JUMP is a non-profit interactive creative center and community gathering place. There's truly nothing else like it in the state - possibly the entire country - and exploring it is a must!

The tour is available daily from May 1st through October 15th. New tours leave every half hour from Wallace. Admission is $16 for adults, $14 for seniors, and $9 for kids. Family and group rates are also available.
