It is easy to remember a time where we all dreamed of living in a castle, right? Whether to be a princess high in a tower, or a knight wandering the halls—one thing is for sure: castles rule. Georgia has a few different castles scattered throughout the state, each with their own unique history: Most People Don’t Know These 7 Epic Castles Are Hiding Right Here In Georgia. However, there is one hidden castle in Georgia, shrouded in mystery, that is worth finally having answers about.
There’s a hidden castle in the town of Alpharetta, Georgia, that many people do not know exist.
But what’s more, is that this hidden castle isn’t just a secret for most, but it also is a downright mystery.
Cagle Castle, also known as Dwarf Castle is a private residence and can only be enjoyed from a distance.
While one might expect a neck-deep moat fit with crocodiles, there instead is a large, wrought-iron fence guarding the property and the residents inside. But don’t be fooled—there still is a swimming pool surrounding the castle that actually doubles as the moat!
Gnomes decorate the walls of the property (hence the name "Dwarf Castle") and the two garages on the property can only be accessed via a drawbridge.
Cagle Castle may look big in the photographs, but in actuality, it’s quite small! Two bedrooms and around 1400 square feet, similar to a smaller apartment some would say.
As the story goes, the house was built in 1950 by Rudy McLaughlin for his wife Ruth.
Rudy was once a long haul truck driver, who spent much time on the road. He promised his wife he would build her a castle, and it turns out, that is exactly what he did.
