Christmas in Georgia is a magical time. Whether you're in our big cities or our small towns, you're sure to find plenty of wonderful events and festivities to celebrate the season. One of the best places to enjoy the holidays in the Peach State is at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in the state's capital. This place is a magical oasis at any time of year, but when decked out with lights and decor, it's absolutely incredible!
The Garden Lights, Holiday Nights experience at Atlanta Botanical Garden is considered one of the top Christmas light displays in America.
The garden spans more than 30 acres and is decked out in nearly 2 billion lights from mid-November to mid-January. One of the most awe-inspiring aspects of the display is the Tunnel of Lights.
Visitors can walk through the tunnel and be surrounded by colorful illumination on all sides.
The massive origami sculptures are always a hit with visitors to the garden, and they look especially magical lit up for the holidays.
This is such a great event that the entire family can enjoy. There are new sections added each year, so even if you've been a regular attendee since the event started in 2010, you'll find new things to check out.
As you stroll through the gardens, you'll be serenaded with Christmas music that's sure to get you in the spirit. There's a fire pit where you can roast s'mores, and plenty of hot cocoa to enjoy.
The event is held rain or shine, so make sure to dress appropriately, and bundle up. It takes about 1.5-2 hours to walk through the garden, which is ADA-accessible.
This is one of the top Christmas attractions in Georgia and it's easy to see why it's an annual tradition for so many families.
This event is extremely popular, so make sure to purchase tickets in advance. You can get more information about the different types of tickets available from the Atlanta Botanical Garden website or Facebook page. The lights will be on display until January 14, 2023.
