This quirky, colorful locale is decidedly one-of-a-kind, offering guests of all ages the chance to step into a wonderland of fun. No matter how many times you’ve stopped by, you’ll find something new to marvel at.
Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum is located at 31005 Orchard Lake Road in Farmington.
At first glance, you might mistake this spot for just another traditional arcade, but there’s no denying the utter originality of Marvin’s. As its name suggests, it’s more of a museum than an arcade.
Throughout the sprawling building, you’ll find a fascinating and extensive collection of vintage arcade games, animated toys, carnival sideshow pieces, and so much more.
In fact, upon stepping inside, you might just be overwhelmed by the sensory experience that surrounds you. Lights, sounds, and oddities galore can be spotted from the floor to the ceiling.
Of course, many of the games that sit inside this 5,500-square-foot wonderland are still functional, so come prepared to have a blast. You’ll feel like a kid again as you make your way through.
Admission to Marvin’s is free, though you’ll surely want to bring along some change to power the museum’s various machines. There’s even an on-site snack bar and small cafe to enjoy.
Not in the mood to play? Never fear: you could easily spend hours gazing at the memorabilia and other decor that set this spot apart. There’s simply no place else quite like it.
The next time you and your loved ones are looking for a fun excursion from Detroit, hop in the car and prepare for a day of lights, colors, sounds, gaming, and quirkiness galore.
