Celebrating Christmas in Delaware is an easy task. Our beautiful state truly gets into the spirit, and if you're looking for a stunning display of holiday cheer, make time to see the Holidays at Nemours. As always, the DuPont estates spare no effort in creating breathtaking experiences for everyone looking for a little Christmas spirit.
Every year, the Nemours Estate in northern Delaware turns into a holiday wonderland.
This 77-room mansion was originally built on 3,000 acres as a gift for Alfred I. DuPont's second wife, Alicea.
The estate and mansion were turned into a museum that preserves much of the French-inspired architecture and decor that A.I. DuPont enjoyed while he lived here.
During the holiday season, the estate becomes one of the most beautiful displays of Christmas decor in the country!
Tour the historic dining rooms and living rooms to take in the golden grandeur of the chandeliers and fixtures that are sure to impress even the pickiest decorator.
The mansion's 20 fireplaces are all decked with floral arrangements, garland, and ornaments, making these the most spectacular mantels you'll ever see.
To fill you with holiday cheer, listen to live entertainment at the Steinway Piano!
You'll often hear someone playing holiday tunes on weekends and evenings, when talented artists come to entertain guests.
Be sure to pay attention to the stunningly detailed Christmas Trees that are scattered throughout the state. They are the true hallmark of Holidays at Nemours!
Holiday at Nemours is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. from now until early January. You can catch live entertainment if you visit on Saturdays or in the evenings.
For another DuPont estate that truly celebrates the season, make plans to stop by Yuletide at Winterthur.
